The literary essay allowed and, of course, allows freedom of expression, variety of content as well as form, and above all, it shows the author’s erudition. Researchers still have a problem to precisely define this form of expression. It has been known since the sixteenth century, when the Renaissance humanist, Montaigne, published his work “Trials.” However, the main features of the essay testify to its formation in ancient times. Then it was supposed to be loose thoughts, usually of a philosophical nature. With the development of literature and the emergence of subsequent genres, the essay gained a large group of supporters and is still one of the most-chosen forms of written expression. Scientists treat it similarly, because the scientific essay is most often chosen to solve a problem and to express a sentence about it.

The scientific essay consists of several elements. The writer first starts by asking a question and general insight in the subject. The most important issue is to know exactly why it deals with a given problem and what makes it worth developing. The scientific essay is first of all a good question, thanks to which one can get a test answer in the form of a thesis. Another issue is the argumentation, or an efficient ability to draw conclusions from previous research. Critical to the thesis, it is put together with it. The scientific essay also contains a place for the author’s own conclusions, in which he should try to answer the question posed by him at the very beginning.

Constructed scientific essay

An efficiently constructed scientific essay becomes pure pleasure for the reader. It is also largely determined by the style of writing and vocabulary. The main advantage is the possibility of subjectivization and emphasizing one’s own perspective. However, in contrast to the usual essay, there is no possibility of a colloquial language and conclusions that have not been supported by the relevant research. An important issue in the creation is also the cross-section, because by choosing such a form of expression, you can easily show the connections between different areas of knowledge. Do not forget about the use of concepts, and above all about explaining the more complex and referring to the main topic. A well-constructed scientific essay is also distinguished by a multilateral analysis of the problem.

And what about the topic? Each scientific essay is characterized by taking up current and important issues for the environment in which one works. Researchers pay attention to the increase in the readership of this type of expression, especially when it comes to publishing essays in magazines and on websites.
